US House Resolution 1308, introduced June 26, seeks to blacklist several TV channels as 'Specially Designated Global Terrorist' (SDGT) organizations.

These would include Iran's TV stations, including PressTV.com

 

This attack on the First Amendment is VERY worrying.

Where will this end ?

Read the web site at Press TV.com there is not one bit of evidence this web site supports Terrorism in any way shape of form

What about the Alternative Media web sites, and search engines, which might highlight reports issued by PRESSTV, and other news outlets which aren't controlled by neo-cons or the israeli firsters who have seditiously captured the purse strings of America.

Iran: US seeks to keep public in dark

Tehran says Washington seeks to label the country's TV channels as 'terrorist' to ensure that world public opinion is kept in the dark. Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) said the US has rashly proposed a resolution that would blacklist Iranian satellite networks, Al-Alam and Press TV, since Washington dreads their role in informing the world of global developments. Ezzatollah Zarghami's remarks come as US House Resolution 1308, introduced June 26, seeks to blacklist several TV channels as 'Specially Designated Global Terrorist' (SDGT) organizations. The resolution, sponsored by Representative Gus Bilirakis, Republican from Florida, is currently being investigated and revised by House committees before general debate on the Congressional floor. The bill aims to stop what Bilirakis claims is the broadcast of 'incitement to violence' against Americans by Middle Eastern media. The measure against Iranian networks is to be adopted while latest figures show that fifty three percent of the viewers of the Press TV Website are from the United States.
